Summary:
The Cost Analyst will report to the Plant Finance Manager and be responsible for PCM and Innovation cost estimates, AOP/Forecast Planning and Variance Analysis as it relates to operations including labor, material usage, overhead, and absorption. Manage and maintain cost standards and bills of material. Financial Performance reviews with operations management. Support finance department with weekly/monthly reporting. Support Capital tracking and SOX testing.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
o Partner with Manufacturing to determine savings associated with efficiency and other process improvements.
o Work with R&D / Marketing on PCM launches. Provide product cost analysis for proposed new products.
o Provide AOP product cost review / analysis support.
o Produce various weekly / period / quarterly variance reports for Plant Management review.
o Demonstrate Lean thinking and participate in Plant Problem Solving and Kaizen events.
o Track the flow of Inventory through the SAP system. Work with production to ensure SAP procedures are followed and inventories are properly managed.
o Participate in the monthly close process.
o Conduct quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley audits of various key controls and audit Pcard purchases.
o Special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
o Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, preferred
o In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, equivalent work experience may be considered
o 2-3 years of manufacturing cost systems and GL experience preferred.
o Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills required
o Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications
o Proficient knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
o Proficient knowledge of cost accounting principles
o Proficient knowledge of general accounting principles
o Strong financial analysis skills & can work with minimal supervision
o Goal oriented and team player
o Ability to support CI/LEAN & other cost savings initiatives
