59 PM EasternFifty percent of the responsibilities of this position is to assist the Dean of Students with planning and monitoring student activities and programs.
These responsibilities will also include working with student leaders and advisors to plan and organize events, activities and programs.
The candidate will also provide supportive activities along with, but not limited to, creating marketing materials to promote activities for the department of Student Services.
The remaining fifty percent of this position will be responsible for administrative support to the PAAMES (Providing African American Males with the Edge to Succeed) grant initiative.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and promote campus-wide events based on student interests.
Provide leadership in relation to all student activities, clubs, and organizations.
Serve as advisor of the Student Government Association.
Supervise and evaluate all student activity events and confer frequently with the Dean of Students on student activity matters.
Utilize the Starfish Case Management system for tracking and evaluation of the PAAMES cohort students.
Provide support for special programming like Fall Fest, Spring Fling, and Phi Theta Kappa Induction.
Assist with creating marketing materials for the promotion of activities on campus.
Assist Dean of Students with professional development for new Student Government members.
Document engagement activities in support of PAAMES Title III grant.
Assistance with grant reporting documentation.
Providing clerical support for PAAMES Success Coaches.
Maintaining PAAMES databases.
Assisting with outreach efforts for the PAAMES cohorts.
Perform administrative duties in support of the PAAMES grant.
Back-up support for other Student Support areas as needed.
Perform other related tasks as required.
SKILLS The applicant will be expected to have strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Ability to think critically and make decisions.
Excellent customer service skills and professionalism is a must.
The applicant must be creative and innovative.
The applicant must be student-centered, possessing a great personality and work ethic.
The applicant must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
The candidate must also be punctual and mature.
Must have excellent computer skills and hold proficiency in major Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word).
The candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends to support student events and conferences.
Must have the ability to work with and adapt to diverse populations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate Degree or higher Two or more years of experience in planning activities and promoting events.
A valid NC driver's license.
WORK
Experience:
A minimum of two years of professional work experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform job duties.
Knowledge of higher education and the functions of the Division of Academic Affairs and Student Services and/or Student Affairs is a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have an ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor Degree or higherState Health Plan, State Retirement, NCFlex Supplemental Insurance, NC Supplemental Retirement Plans.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
