On our 25-acre farm, produce fruits and vegetables to feed our community and we train our community on how to create sustainable income and how to invest in healthy living.
We follow the principles of permaculture, the farm, programs, and people at CFLC serve multiple functions and simultaneously benefit from multiple resources.
It is an ever-evolving ecosystem, constantly adapting to feedback and building slowly towards just the right balance of earth care and people care.
Farm Assistant positions will be from March 6-December 1 with opportunities for winter season work available.
You will be joining our field team and who is responsible for:
Harvesting vegetables Receiving and labeling produce from other farms Washing and Packing Produce Bags and Boxes Preparing beds & weeding Seeding and planting Washing trays and buckets Fertilizing/pest control Candidate
Qualifications:
Passionate about local community, farming and the environment Suggests ways to optimize systems and processes Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stretch, and squat for extended periods of time and in less than ideal weather conditions Positive attitude and willing to learn from mistakes Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing Must be able to think creatively and problem solve Must be able to work equally well with others and alone Must wear appropriate clothing and shoes/boots People of Color, queer, and/or gender non-conforming encouraged to apply Ability to speak Spanish preferred Job Type:
