Solar Renewables Project Engineer Responsibilities Under general direction with minimal supervision provides engineering / technical expertise to provide oversight for the construction of a solar PV facility. Reports to the Project Manager and represents company and department in internal and external meetings and be able to balance company and customer interests.

Key Responsibilities Include:
?Provide engineering / technical expertise and guidance to manage overall engineering support for projects.
?Assure quality of construction meets expected standards and approved design.
?Assure technical specifications are met and integration of best engineering practices, lessons learned, the requirements of project stakeholders, and interconnecting equipment are included in construction.
?Coordinate and provide oversight/approval of external engineering and equipment procurement activities.
?Interface with DER Development, O&M, EH&S, and other Duke subject matter experts.
?Coordinate Duke Energy?s equipment procurement with Supply Chain for the project within the cost and schedule needs of the project.
?Establish inspection requirements for purchased equipment and coordinate inspection program to facilitate delivery of quality equipment in accordance with the terms of the procurement agreements.
?Provide engineering/technical support to the Project Management/ Site Construction Team / O&M Team to address technical issues that arise during construction, Commissioning, and Operations.
?Provide input to the project estimating process regarding engineering and procurement activities.
?Provide input to the project scheduling process regarding engineering and procurement activities. Also provide forecasts regarding engineering and procurement schedules on a regular basis to the Project Manager.

Basic Qualifications
?B.S. degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
?Proven construction field experience and knowledge of expected safety requirements
?Experience in the design and construction of major projects with the basic knowledge and understanding of utility scale, solar PV facilities
?Experience in project engineering and contract management
?Negotiation, evaluation / decision making, problem solving and presentation skills
?Interpret and apply policies and procedures in complex technical applications
?Valid driver?s license
?Strong written and oral communication skills

Desired Qualifications
?Experience in the design and / or construction of solar PV systems
?Experience in supervising engineering resources and contractors
?Demonstrated ability to set priorities, make informative and persuasive presentations, negotiate, control stressful situations, provide instructions and training, and direct others.
?Demonstrated ability to achieve business results through the application of technical abilities and expertise including effective planning, knowledge, organizing, and management.
?Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, retain and follow oral and written instruction, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively.
?Demonstrated ability to collect and organize data, study and apply policies/procedures, evaluate graphic and/or numerical information, effectively organize and monitor technical work activities including ability to read and comprehend drawings, graphs, maps.
?Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and prepare accurate reports including ability to calculate and count, analyze, define/interpret, investigate, fill in forms, create, make decisions, inspect, test devices and indicators, correctly copy details and numerical information in written material.
?Demonstrated ability to collaborate with parties of various backgrounds to reach a common objective.
?Proficient in working with office computer applications such as Microsoft Office Products and other software tools. Work Conditions
?Must be able to be mobile to reach areas in remote areas of construction project for field observations of construction on a daily basis
?Must be able and willing to travel to various locations around the US as needed for equipment checks or meetings.
?Expected to temporarily locate to the area near the construction site for the duration of the project with paid travel home every 3rd weekend

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
